Year 1 Put Off Some Pesky Seagulls

Ronda and David Armitage are such brilliant storytellers and this week Year 1 loved reading “The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch” and retelling the story using actions.

We made our own storyboards, sequencing events and innovating our own disgusting sandwich to stop the pesky seagulls. In maths, we worked on adding and subtraction 10,11 and 12 from 2-digit numbers, recording brilliant number sentences in our books. In science, we are watching our pots excitedly, waiting for our beans to pop up and exploring more about types of trees and what plants need to survive.

We are embarking on an Art and DT project making moving basket pictures inspired by this week’s story!
