Our pupils go on to a broad range of senior schools, the list of which is as varied and unique as the children who attend Hazlegrove. We don't believe that there should be a 'one size fits all' approach to senior school choice and families benefit from the wealth of knowledge available at Hazlegrove about entry to senior school.

Parents can talk with the Headmaster and other staff for advice at any time, and future school conversations often begin as early as Year 4. The process ensures that the school gets to know the family and their desires and ambitions for their children, both academically and pastorally. We look carefully at the child in terms of their abilities, strengths and interests. The options for the family are then narrowed down depending on whether they are looking at boarding/day, single-sex/co-ed, selective/ non-selective and so on. We prepare all children for their senior school pre-tests at Hazlegrove and give every child interview practice too for both senior school entry and scholarship. We also have a well-developed scholarship programme for any child applying for an award to a senior school.

The Headmaster and staff are always happy to discuss the different options available for the children in the years leading up to Scholarship or Common Entrance.

Hazlegrove shares a Board of Governors with King's School, Bruton and is proud to be a part of this royal foundation, which dates back to the early sixteenth century. Usually around 40% the children in a year group will progress on to King's School, Bruton, which is a co-educational boarding and day school for children between 13 and 18 years of age.
