Nursery Celebrate Diwali
It has been wonderful to see the children arrive back with beaming smiles, full of excitement for the half term ahead.
This week, we have been learning about Diwali and Bonfire night. It has been a week full of light and colour, and the children have been incredibly focused in all activities. They have learnt new vocabulary linked to Diwali and have taken a particular interest in Diya lamps. They have enjoyed making them on the playdough table, in the creative area, using tissue paper and paper plates and, in Forest School using clay and leaves.
The children made sparkly crowns and delicious Ladoo, in preparation for our own Diwali celebration. We decorated the room with beautiful lights, and enjoyed a party, where the children learnt a simple Indian dance and used chalk to make large Rangoli patterns, to Indian music.
At the end of the week, it was time for Fireworks Night. The children made rockets, painted firework scenes and worked together to make a Zebra for our Pre-Prep guy.
