Broadening Interests
Activities can include tennis, ballet, contemporary dance, choir, music clubs, football, Forest School, Speech and Drama to name a few! Children staying for activities have a snack at 4pm and play time until the activities start.
After-school clubs are available to all of our pupils in Years 1 and 2 whilst for our younger children in Nursery and Pre-Prep, age relevant after school care runs alongside the clubs which provides a relaxed and fun time after school.
Activities Available in Pre-Prep
Percussion – Children in Years 1 and 2 are taught to play the chimes as an ensemble by Mrs Moore (full-time Teacher of Piano and Music Theory). Performances take place in our termly Pre-Prep Concerts. This club is provided free of charge.
This club takes place on a Tuesday after school. A maximum of 12 children can participate in the club and therefore any child who does not secure a place will be given priority in the following term.
Tennis with Miss Parkin-Bowes for Years 1 and 2 is on a Monday or Friday. Children are assigned the day of their club based on their ability. There are 12 places per session.
Ballet is part of the curriculum in the Nursery and Dance is part of the curriculum in the Reception class. Ballet is offered as an optional extra to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 as well as to older children in the Prep School.
Speech and Drama is available as an optional extra for Year 2 children. Lessons are held during the school day on a day and time to be confirmed by Miss de la Poer at the beginning of each term. Please speak to your class teacher if you are interested in your child joining Speech and Drama.
Mrs Millard, our Forest School leader takes this club. A maximum of 12 children can participate in this after school activity.
Our Pre-Prep Golf Club takes place on Tuesday after school with professional golfer Mr Martin Liley.
This club is run by Mrs Gillow and takes place on a Thursday lunchtime, with performances taking place at concerts throughout the year. This club is free of charge.
Pre-Prep Choir – Open to children in Years 1 and 2, choir is taken by Mrs Sclater (Director of Music and Performing Arts), with performances taking place at a number of concerts and events throughout the year. This club is provided free of charge.
Violin – In addition to curriculum class violin lessons, our Fiddly Fingers ensemble is open to children in Years 1 and 2, taught by Mrs Honey (Visiting Teacher of Violin and Viola). This club is provided free of charge.
