Nursery Investigate Incy Wincy Spider
This week Nursery have been focusing on the story 'Day Monkey, Night Monkey' by Julia Donaldson.
The children have been finding out and thinking about what they see and do in the nighttime, and the daytime and what animals come out at these times.
They have been using their mathematical skills to make starry night scenes, focusing on sizes and accurate counting on the painting table and the playdough table.
We have enjoyed the crisp, cold mornings where the children looked carefully for a common day and nighttime creature - Incy Wincy spider! They spotted webs all over the school and made sure to check all the drainpipes to see if he was hiding there. Back in the classroom, the children did some marble painting to create their own beautiful spider webs.
This has tied in nicely to World Nursery Rhyme Week, we have heard some confident renditions of some favourite rhymes and the children have enjoyed using instruments alongside them.
