Year 2 Enjoy Receiving Postcards

Year 2 were not going to have their spirits dampened by all the wet weather.

We decided to visit the island of Struay, the island that Katie Morag lives on, which is based on the island of Coll in Scotland. We have been reliving the joy of receiving a postcard. Mrs Davison showed the children some postcards she received when she was a little girl and the children could see the types of messages people wrote on them. Our curiosity box had a postcard to Katie Morag which had us all very curious! We loved writing our postcards from Struay and were even able to put a stamp on it at the classroom post office. The end of our Health and Growth topic in science was a delicious one. The children all designed and made a healthy smoothie which was happily consumed by them all. Who knew something so healthy could taste so good? Wishing you all a very restful and happy half term from the Year 2 teachers.
