Year 1 Create Innovative Story Endings
“Run, run, as fast as you can” could be heard from our Year 1 classroom as the children enjoyed another traditional tale, told using our ‘Talk for Writing’ actions.
Can you guess what the story was? The gingerbread man is now a favourite! We loved innovating the end, changing what happened when the gingerbread man got to the river. Our creative innovations included escaping on a boat or jet ski, being eaten by a bear or fish and a ride on a whale’s back!
We loved Apple Day and all the brilliant activities we did to celebrate apples and harvest. Our maths lessons have been full of problem-solving activities to learn our number bonds. The children have worked hard to independently find pairs to 7,8,9,10 and write the inverse too. Our jigsaw topic of “Being me in my world” celebrated achievements that we feel proud of this week and understanding consequences to our actions. What a brilliant seven weeks we have had in Year 1! We were able to celebrate our achievements by showing off our books to our parents at parent teacher meetings this week.
