Year 2 Visit St Barnabas Church
A rainy morning could not dampen the spirits of the Year 2 children on their trip to St Barnabas Church in Queen Camel.
Reverend Rose Hoskins and the church wardens warmly welcomed us. We all were very happy to get in from the rain and explored the church enthusiastically. Reverand Hoskins blessed us all with Holy Water from the font, we recognised the creatures on the lid from the font, they were the school dolphins that we wear on our school uniform every day. As we went around the church, we looked for the green man hidden in the arches of the side aisle. He definitely needed to see the dentist and he didn’t look as nice as the one on King Charles’ coronation invitation that the Reverand Hoskins showed us. All the children made a bookmark during their visit and were treated to some very special biscuits. A visit from the dentist Mrs Hall was also a helpful reminder about how we need to look after our teeth and how to keep them healthy. She asked us what would happen if we did not take care of our teeth and helped us “brush up” on our cleaning routines.
