Pre-Prep PrePrep

In Pre- School this week, we have been using the story “We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt” to think about the different colours, shapes and patterns we can find on Autumnal leaves.

We went on a leaf hunt in the grounds and used an iPad to each take photographs of the leaves we found which looked interesting. We printed these pictures and used Autumnal coloured paper to make frames for them; we counted out four pieces of paper and assembled our own frames.

Using our strong fine motor skills, we threaded wool through holes in cardboard leaves- creating patterns and shapes with the wool. This took some determination and patience to finish, we are very proud of everyone who persevered to complete this task!

Finally, we have been sharing “The Colour Monster” story to think about our emotions over the past few weeks. This week we used our knowledge of the emotions in the story to represent them using malleable materials- we talked about why we might be feeling different things and how we can help each other feel better.

Happy Half Term!
