Reception Become Budding Paramedics
Ambulance sirens could be heard with alarming regularity on Monday morning outside the Reception classroom, but not to fear, all was well.
Mrs Chalke, from the South Western Ambulance service, gave the children a fantastic insight into her role as a paramedic and the children then had the opportunity to explore the ambulance and have a go with the pieces of equipment , bandages and stretchers! In class, we discussed how the Emergency Services are real-life superheroes, swooping in to save us when we are in trouble. In our PSHE lessons, we have been setting ourselves challenges for the term ahead and have linked these closely to our learning targets. We are hoping to use our superpowers of listening, practise and perseverance to achieve these by the end of term. Another super week in Reception!
