A Big Welcome Back to our Super Reception Class
The excitement level was high on Wednesday morning as the Reception children bounced back into class, brimming with stories of their Christmas holidays and the surprises Father Christmas brought them!
It was so wonderful to hear them talking about time spent with family, the games they played, and the yummy food they enjoyed. The children’s enthusiasm continued when I introduced this term’s topic of ‘Superheroes!’ We started by thinking about ‘Super’ attributes and what makes someone a superhero. Alongside the more well-known ‘Super’ characters, we were impressed with the children’s suggestions of firemen, nurses and doctors. The ‘Superhero Headquarters’ role play is a hive of activity, and it is wonderful to hear the children creating imaginary scenarios where a superhero is needed! We cannot wait to take on some ‘Super Challenges’ in our learning over the coming weeks!
