Problem Solving and Festive Prepping in Year 1
There’s been a flourish of activity in Year 1 as we gear up for our Nativity performances.
This week we have been retelling “The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark” by Jill Tomlinson, using special story openers. We also spent time innovating parts of the story, coming up with amazing adjectives to describe the dark.
In Maths, we have been consolidating our knowledge of addition and subtraction and looking back at how much incredible maths we have done this year!
In our PSHE lessons, we are really enjoying celebrating all our differences and how amazing we all are! In these Jigsaw lessons, we looked at how to include others in our work and play and how we try to solve problems together. We love sitting and having our “Calm me” time, listening to the chimes and breathing deeply! At this busy time of year, it’s a good reminder that sometimes we just need to stop!
