Reception would like some Chocolate on the Moon!
One small step for man, one giant leap for the Reception class this week, as we have travelled to the moon.
Our spacecraft was a large cardboard box, we were equipped with space boots (yellow wellies), a helmet (colander) and a hearty picnic! Following the story of ‘Whatever Next’ by Jill Murphy the children have immersed themselves in this amazing adventure, creating textured paint space pictures and developing their fine motor skills when making aliens from playdough. It has been wonderful to see the children independently writing lists of the things they would like to take to the moon – most of them want to take animals and some hot chocolate!
On Thursday, we remembered the brave men, women and animals who have worked so hard to keep our country safe. The children impressed me with both their maturity and their understanding of why it is so important to remember.
