Reception took a trip to Highfield House Care Home
Our week started off with a very special visit to Highfield House Care Home, where the children sang their favourite songs and then enjoyed doing some colouring with the residents.
It was wonderful to see the children confidently chatting to new friends and the staff and clients made us so welcome.
There has been a more Autumnal feel in the classroom this week with pumpkins and conkers for the children to explore. On Wednesday we went on a blustery Autumn walk, looking at the changing colours and spotting berries and seeds. We have enjoyed the story of ‘Leaf Man’ and look forward to planning some adventures for him next week. In our number work, we have been busy ordering numbers and thinking about one more and one less – our favourite activity has been creating an enormous carpark on the floor in the classroom with numbered vehicles and parking spaces! It has been a busy and wonderful week!
