Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch Year 1, they’re working as hard as they can!

We loved the tale of “The Gingerbread Man” and retold the story with actions and expressions. We learnt how to look for the opening, build-up, problem and resolution in the story using our story mountains. In maths we have been counting in 10’s and using numbers all the way to 100.

In our Science lesson we are learning to identify reptiles, fish, mammals and birds by their distinctive features. Our investigation involved a fish which we dissected to look at its skeleton and compare it to other skeletons we have seen. Not everyone enjoyed the fishy smell (Mrs Cox) but the children learnt so much and had great fun!
