Sea Creatures and Sports Fixtures for Nursery
This week, the Dragonflies and Ladybirds have continued thinking about the wonderful world of under-the-sea.
We started the week looking at the story 'Commotion in the Ocean', where the children used actions to support them to remember the story. During circle-time, they thought about which sea creature they would like to be and why.
The rest of the week, the children put on their creative hats and have made beautiful sea creatures using different materials and many different colours…along with an extra sprinkle of glitter!
As we reached Thursday, it was time to show off all the children's strength, co-ordination, balance and determination at our wonderful Sport's Day Showcase. We ended the week with Prize Giving. The Dragonflies stood with beaming smiles upon their faces to receive their prizes for all that they contributed during their time in Nursery across the areas of learning.
The Butterflies have had an active week exploring the school grounds by foot and on bikes and scooters, as well as the all-important practice for their sports day. It has been wonderful to see the children developing their friendships, sharing, taking turns, and working together throughout.
In the woods this week, the children had a great time making some summer citrus drinks in the mud kitchen. In the classroom, they have been helping lots of patients in the doctor's surgery, inspired by 'Zog and the flying doctors'. We were so proud of the children on Thursday, when they showed off their fantastic physical skills during the sports showcase, which was their first performance in front of family members. Well done, Butterflies!
This week has really highlighted how these little people have grown in their learning and development during their time in Nursery! All the children made the Nursery staff incredibly proud of their individual achievements!
