Year 1 Learning All About Capacity!
Full, half full, nearly full, and empty were just some of the language we have been learning about this week in maths linked with learning all about capacity.
Year 1 very much enjoyed finding the capacity and measuring how much water different containers could hold. We found ourselves asking, what could hold more water than a school water bottle?
Alongside these budding new skills, our Africa topic is now in full swing. In Topic, we used a compass and directional language to navigate our way around an African safari. Then in English, we set ourselves the task of continuing our Meerkat deep dive. Spending the week learning how to make notes on a category and then using these notes to create our own non-fiction reports. By the end of this week Year 1 is absolutely bursting with more knowledge and facts than ever before.
