A Fun-Packed Week for Nursery
This week the Butterflies have been continuing their topic of 'The Hungry Caterpillar'.
They began the week by making some healthy fruit and vegetable kebabs, practicing their safe handling of tools to cut their fruit and vegetables. The children explored the tastes and textures and showed confidence to express their likes and dislikes. They have also made seed bombs full of wildflower seeds to attract the butterflies, practiced their careful counting using fruit images from the story and created some very colourful, shape caterpillar sock puppets.
The Dragonflies and Ladybirds have gone off topic to celebrate Stories. The children looked at two different stories, ‘The Great Fairy Tale Disaster’ by David Conway and ‘Goldilocks and Just the One Bear’ by Leigh Hodgkinson. Both stories were a twist on popular fairy tales and familiar stories. In the classroom, the children have created their own stories using resources and, during circle-time, the children shared their favourite story and explained why. All the children ended the week celebrating World Book Day, dressed as their favourite characters. What a fun-filled busy week!
