The Reception Children Created Junk Model Vehicles For Father Christmas.
This week the Reception children were problem solving for Father Christmas.
It’s Christmas day, the reindeer are exhausted and in bed asleep, but one present has been left in Santa’s sack! How will he get it to the little boy who lives at the top of the roly-poly hill, far, far away? The children used their super imaginations to create vehicles from junk modelling materials that would be suitable for different terrains, it was wonderful to see them adding snow ploughs, grippy wheels and ice-melters to their designs. After reading the story, the children used their prediction skills to try and guess what might have been in the present. A ticket to ride in Santa’s sleigh and a yummy Christmas dinner were among some of the lovely ideas.
The Nativity practises and performances have been wonderful and have put us all in a very Christmassy mood. The children amazed us with their confident singing and their incredible Makaton signing for our Reception song. I am sure you all agree they were fantastic!
