Christingles, Nativities and much More Festive Activities For Year 1

Christingles, Nativities and much-loved Christmas stories… Christmas has definitely arrived in Year 1 this week.

We have enjoyed a week of hard work and fun festivities. Year 1s certainly made themselves and us proud with their Nativity performance as Village Dancers and Soldiers. Whilst in class we have been continuing to work very hard on writing speeches for characters and getting it just right! Looking at the story of the Bear and the Hare we began the week by building a scene inspired by the story. Before thinking about how the characters in the scene might have been feeling and what they might have said. To wrap up our termly RS topic, Light, we explored the Christingle, how they are made and what they resemble within a Christian Christmas celebration- we particularly enjoyed creating our own.
