Year 2 Enjoyed A Week Inspired By Guy Fawkes And Fireworks Night

Remember, remember the fifth of November has been a phrase repeated by many of the children in Year 2.

They have all enjoyed learning about the Catholic plotters who were trying to kill King James as he visited the Houses of Parliament.  Wanted posters and Guy Fawkes figures have adorned the classrooms. Learning about the history behind a key event that the children already had some knowledge about has sparked their historical learning. The wet weather has not dampened our spirits as we built our guy: A marvellous figure that all the children in the Pre Prep helped to construct. Now the children understand the significance of the Guy and we burn them on bonfire night.
