Year 1 Bake Bread Using Flour From Sturminster Newton Mill

After a well-deserved break, it was like we were never away in Year 1!
Picking up where we left off, we spent the first part of our week baking bread, as the Little Red Hen did- using flour that we bought on our school trip to Sturminster Newton Mill (it was delicious!). We continued our number bonds work, working with number pairs all the way up to 10 and even began working on subtraction from 10! Then in RE and Art, we learnt about and celebrated the Hindu festival of Diwali, by crafting our own traditional tealight diyas. We plan to end the week with a bang as we gathered and made our contribution to the Pre-Prep guy ready for our bonfire celebrations tonight. We have enjoyed our very hands-on learning week!
