Pre-Prep

Year 2’s busy Wednesday continued with a visit from Mr Lindsey-Clark with the Treehouse Theatre Workshop.

With Mr Lindsey-Clark’s brilliant storytelling, Year 2 were transported back to 1666 - to the Farriner household where the fire began. As experts on the Great Fire of London, the children answered all of Mr Lindsey-Clark ’s questions enthusiastically and listened intently as he told his story. Before long it was time to dress up and the children chose caps, bonnets, shawls and waistcoats before being given a new name. With the likes of Humphrey, Mabel and Francis now occupying the dance studio it was time for an adventure.

The children acted out waking to the fire and having to choose one item to take with them. Money, jewellery, teddy bears and hammers were but a few of the sentimental pieces chosen by Year 2. The children had to help put out the fire with buckets, run away from an incoming explosion and work together to work out how to pay the ferry fare to get to safety on the other side of the river.

The children had a wonderful time and we thank Mr Lindsey-Clark for his incredible storytelling.
