Reception enjoy their topic of 'traditional tales'
This half term, we have enjoyed exploring traditional stories in the Reception class. We started with the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ and cooked delicious gingerbread men!
We enjoyed playing in our shoe shop and cobblers while exploring the story of ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’.
In Forest School we had fun following a trail of flour to find the Giant from 'Jack and the Beanstalk' asleep in the woods, guarding his golden eggs. We took it in turns to creep quietly up to him and take an egg!
After listening to the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ we made beautiful mirror frames. We invented our own Dwarfs, choosing a special characteristic for each one.
The children have learnt to write beginnings, middles and ends of stories and they have thought about what makes stories interesting and how we can change them.
