Year 2 Share Their Harvest Poetry
We loved having our parents in on Monday for our stay and learn morning.
They helped us write Autumn poetry and were able to see all our lovely work in the Year 2 classrooms. Poetry has been a fun part of our drama lessons as the nights draw in. We have been thinking of all things that are harvested at this time of year. How busy the farmers have been collecting their crops in their fields. We have also been painting a perfect picture with our singing, a beautiful song we hope you all enjoyed at the Harvest celebration. The children have all been thinking about Black History (Month) and finding out about a famous polar explorer Matthew Henson. He travelled with Robert Peary’s expedition to the North Pole in 1890. Matthew got very little recognition at the time but he did say “I think I am the first man to sit on top of the world.” The children decided that these people inspired them to think you can chase your dream …. Whatever it may be.
