Prep Academic

Year 5 pupils embarked on an exciting journey into the world of meteorology by conducting a series of weather experiments.

These activities were designed to deepen their understanding of extreme weather phenomena and cloud formations. They learned about the conditions necessary for clouds to form and the different types of clouds that can appear in the sky. This immersive approach allowed the pupils to grasp complex scientific concepts in a fun and interactive way.

In addition to studying clouds, the pupils also created their own miniature storms and swirling tornadoes. By using simple materials, they were able to simulate in a teacup, the conditions that lead to storm formation, observing the dynamics of weather systems on a small scale. They also made swirling tornadoes in a bottle, which demonstrated the powerful forces at play in these natural disasters. A Geography lesson to remember for Year 5.
