Year 2 Warm Up for Harvest Festival
We are getting very excited about our Harvest Festival service that is fast approaching.
We have been painting pictures with our singing and creating harvest images with our poems. We have enjoyed working with our new Drama teacher who has encouraged us to use our voices with a variety of tones and autumnal warmth.
The most exciting event of the week was making ‘porridgies’ a delicious sticky, sugary snack that Katie Morag told us about in her baking day story. We didn’t eat them during a midnight feast like Katie Morag did in the story but we were lucky enough to eat them for our snack the day after we made them! During science, we discovered how stubborn germs can be and how difficult it is to get them off our hands, unless we use soap and hot water. A very visual and important experiment that is part of our health and growth topic.
