Year 1 Get Creative with their Senses
“You can’t taste a pickle with your ear” was the title of a hilarious story Year 1 enjoyed this week.
We combined our science topic of “Our Senses” and our English poetry writing week to create pieces of writing about our senses. We enjoyed using our five senses to experience the world around us and use them to help us be imaginative with our writing.
In maths, we continued to work on counting in 10’s as well as counting on to add numbers. We also enjoyed creating pictograms and graphs to show smells and tastes we liked and did not like. The children have been hard at work drawing their Christmas card designs so look out for their fabulous designs later on in the term.
In our Jigsaw PSHE lessons, we loved learning about how we can make our school a safe and fun place to learn and to develop our sense of belonging to our family, school and to our class. What a wonderful week we have had!
