Pre-School Explore the Gardens at The Newt

Pre-School has had a super busy week with lots of children enjoying taking part in activities linked to our story of the week, ‘Oliver’s Vegetables’.

The story is about a boy who is reluctant to eat anything except for chips but by the end of the story, eats a whole rainbow of vegetables. We have been printing using vegetables, painting with water-colours and making vegetable soup.

During a rainy morning at forest school, we went on a listening walk; we heard the rain dripping off the leaves as well as some lovely bird song. On Wednesday we had a super morning at The Newt learning about pond life and our wonderful guide Nicky took us on a sensory adventure in the gardens; finally, we finished our visit with a hot chocolate and a biscuit before walking back to the minibus.
