Year 2 Create Self Portraits With Vegetables
Sunshine and happy smiles have been around all week.
We have all enjoyed soaking up the sunshine in the playground. The sunny weather took us shopping in our maths lessons and influenced our healthy food faces. All the children bought their snack on Wednesday morning from Mrs Davison’s snack shop! They had to add up the amount they would need to pay from the items they chose. It was a very successful shopping trip for all the children.
Guiseppe Arcimboldo was the artist we used to influence our cross-curricular science and art lesson this Wednesday. His amazing paintings used an array of fruit, vegetables and flowers to create portraits of people. The children all tried to make a self-portrait using a variety of vegetables and pulses. The results were fun and very creative.
