The Colour Monster Visited Nursery
This week in Nursery, we have continued to focus on 'The Colour Monster' exploring a new colour, each day.
The children have shown a greater understanding of their emotions and it has been wonderful to see them communicating to each other about how they are feeling and building colour monsters during their play.
On Monday, the sun shone for our day of yellow, a perfect opportunity for the children to take their magical wands on a yellow hunt. They collected a range of vibrant leaves and petals as we ventured around the grounds, leading us to discuss the changes in Autumn.
On Tuesday, the children became firefighters! The red monster was so angry that he had caused some fires in the playground. Luckily, the children were on hand with pipettes and water bottles to put the flames out and bring a sense of calmness back into Nursery! They then made their own fire trucks back in the classroom.
Throughout the week we also explored green for calm, where the children enjoyed some yoga in nature and blue for sadness, where they took part in some bubble blowing activities that can help to cheer us up when we are feeling sad.
What a busy but fun filled week!
