Reception Hunt for Little Lumpty
‘Little Lumpty’ has been our focus text this week and the children have enjoyed all of our egg-themed activities.
In class, we have enjoyed learning how to separate eggs and then make meringues. The children used their brilliant problem solving skills to work out how we could get Little Lumpty safely down from the wall; using planks, guttering and supports they worked together to create a fantastic slide.
On Tuesday, Little Lumpty was up to his old tricks and decided to run away! We followed the clues and finally found him, up high, but not on a wall this time! He led us a merry dance around the grounds, on a beautiful sunny morning, before we caught up with him on the top of the pirate ship! We then drew pictures of what he could see from on high and made our own Little Lumpty’s using staplers, stuffing and collage. It has been an egg-cellent and egg- citing week.
