Year 1 Get Creative With Poetry

Money, money, money, was the theme of our maths lessons this week as we learnt to add amounts and find change from 10p and 20p.

We may also have had a little Abba singalong too! This creative bunch of Year 1’s loved writing a variety of under the sea poems including cinquains and shape poems. They included similes and adjectives and worked hard to paint an image in their reader's head. Our bean seeds continue to grow although some have taken so long to pop out the ground. The children have been accurately labelling diagrams and making simple recordings. The week culminated in a very special Prizegiving Ceremony and we enjoyed celebrating our achievements together.
