Year 1 Met a New Friend From the Kalahari Desert

‘Stay safe, stay together’ was the meerkat’s moto in our story this week, ‘Meerkat Mail’ by Emily Gavitt.

We enjoyed taking Sunny the meerkat around school and writing postcards back to his family in the Kalahari desert. We continued to learn about measuring using scales and rulers and keeping our zoo-keeper log of the animals in the zoo.

We are also looking at habitats in Science and using our atlases to locate and label the seven continents. Our African sunset pictures are stunning and ready to go up in our hall gallery!
