A Colourful Final Week for Nursery

The Ladybirds and Butterflies were so pleased to see some sunshine at the beginning of the week, so we spent the whole morning out at Forest school.

Despite the sun, the children still managed to end up covered head to toe in mud! They also spent time creating clay mini beasts and making seed bombs from mud and flour, as well as the usual favourite insect hunting and using tools! The children enjoyed a snack of biscuits, fruit, and hot chocolate whilst chatting around the campfire.

This week we continued the eco theme and the children used all the recycling to make a large and colourful sticking board with paint and glue as well as pasta worms and bridges for cars.

The end of the week saw all the children participating in some Easter crafts including, nature eggs, textured chicks and mini beast decorated eggs. They also enjoyed egg rolling and sorting in the classroom. To complete the term, we went on an Easter egg hunt where the children discovered many rainbow eggs hiding within the school grounds.

As we approach the Easter holidays, the Dragonflies began the week by reading the Easter story. They then used their art skills to create a fluffy picture of a chick for their Easter cards while also writing their name inside. On Tuesday, we learnt about the Hindu celebration of Holi that will take place during the Easter holidays. To explore the festival of colour further, the Dragonflies created a beautiful, vibrant, rainbow tree using paint and their hands. We had a very exciting Wednesday, as it was ‘Eggstravagansa’ in the Pre-Prep! The children transformed a plain simple egg into a fearsome dinosaur!
