Year 2 Conveys a Hopeful Message
What a festival week!
We have all learnt so much about how we can sustain our planet and live in harmony with every creature on it. As David Attenborough has told us, we have the intelligence as humans to make this happen. The children found out that we need to think about our energy use, stop using fossil fuels and develop our use of sustainable energy resources. He also told us to stop poisoning our oceans and think about living in harmony with all the animals in the world. If we lived in harmony, we had a chance of having a sustainable planet. It was a very hopeful message to us all. We have realised how if we try, humans can make it happen.
Our ‘Green Up Your Act’ workshop showed us all that we have been doing many of the right things to help our planet. Recycling different products, we have made beautiful, colourful fish and Indian elephants. Inspired by the need for us all to eat less red meat, we have tried a range of Indian fruit and vegetables. Some we had heard of before like lemon grass which was used in the herbal remedies of Mary Seacole. It has been an enlightening week for us all and given us lots of ambitions to help this beautiful planet we live on.
