A Mischievous Pea Causing Chaos for Reception

Pre-Prep PrePrep

Complete disarray met us on Monday when we entered the classroom.

Carrots stuck down with plasters, a courgette wrapped up in toilet paper, a poor parsnip taped to the board and some suspicious-looking green footprints. What could have happened? Luckily, we had all of the Mummies and Daddies in to help us find the clues and solve the mystery for our stay-and-play morning. We deduced it was the work of the ‘Evil Pea’ and he is still on the run! The children have created wanted posters, describing what he looks like and detailing his terrible crimes. They have made their own Supertato models using material, paper and pins and we have thought about which fruits and vegetables are good for us and designed healthy eating plates.

In maths, we have enjoyed learning about subtraction by squishing evil playdough peas to help us understand taking away, and we have smashed frozen peas using wooden hammers and our fingers to develop our fine motor skills. A very exciting and eventful week.
