Super Hero Reception to the Rescue!

Super Hero Reception to the Rescue!

Pre-Prep PrePrep

Reception have been on a mission this week to rescue the frozen Jelly baby family from the clutches of the ‘Evil Freezer’.

The children designed their first scientific experiment and then tested their ideas. Warm water and placing them on the radiator were very successful methods however, microwaving for four minutes did not have such positive results for the jelly babies! In Design Technology we have created superhero gadgets from junk modelling, focussing on joining methods using split pins, staplers and Sellotape. It was wonderful to see the children’s imaginations run wild when creating computers, walkie-talkies and utility belts. In our maths, we have focussed on learning our number bonds to 10, challenging ourselves by solving missing number problems, partitioning and creating bonds with our friends in Superhero poses. The superhero role-play and the walkie-talkies have provided amazing communication opportunities and much laughter!
