Some Sparkly Teeth Down in Pre-Prep This Week
This week, we welcomed Dentist Tara and dentist Steff into school to tell us all about oral health and the importance of looking after our teeth.
The boys and girls had great fun dressing up in her dental scrubs and perfecting our brushing technique with some giant teeth and toothbrush. We learned so much and are ready to keep our teeth gleaming!
Linked to their Religious Education and Understanding the World, Year 2 visited Exeter Mosque on Tuesday and Reception visited Wells Cathedral. The Imman at the Mosque was incredibly welcoming and taught the children so much about the Islamic religion, making links between different religions and sharing how community with all faiths is so important to them. Reception enjoyed exploring the cathedral, identifying the different features and familiarising themselves with this magnificent building before our Carol Service.
That leads me nicely onto arrangements for our whole school Carol Service at Wells Cathedral. As mentioned, the Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children will be singing a song from their nativity as part of the service and children are expected to attend, dressed in school uniform. Please can we ask that these children are handed over to their teacher to sit with their class at the front of the Cathedral, ready to perform. Any Nursery children who attend Wells for this service, we kindly ask that they sit with their parents as they will not be performing. It is always a beautiful service and lovely to see one of the many wonderful things your children will be doing when they enter the Prep school.
We are so incredibly excited for our Festive Friday on 1 December where the Pre-Prep children can wear mufti and a Christmas jumper. All children will be taking part in a sponsored Rudolf Run in aid of Save the Children and sponsorship buckets will be available for donations every morning next week. In the afternoon, we have our Pre-Prep Christmas Fair held in the playground with lots of games and goodies. We are always so grateful for your generous, new raffle donations and kindly ask if they can be brought into school next week by Thursday please? We will also hold a White Elephant stall so if you have a very good-quality, clean soft-toy that you child no longer plays with, we would be grateful for any donations for this stall so other children can purchase and enjoy them. Please could I also ask that people are mindful with where they park for the fair. The staff will park behind school so the Pre-Prep carpark can be used as can the main carpark, but please ensure you haven’t blocked roads or cars. All profits from our fair will be donated to Save the Children. We raised an incredible £951 for the charity last year – it would be wonderful if we could beat that amount and your generous donations will help hugely, thank you.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
