The leaves are falling all around in Nursery this week
It was wonderful to welcome the children's parents into Nursery at the beginning of the week for Stay and Play. They enjoyed showing their Mummy's and Daddy's all the exciting activities on offer in the classroom.
The Ladybird's have been focusing on signs of Autumn this week. After reading 'The Leaf Thief', the children engaged in a variety of leaf-themed activities, including Autumn paintings, leaf cutting and creating animal homes in an exciting autumnal small world. The children practiced their counting as we sang an autumn leaf song and then counted out leaves to add to their own tree.
Carrying on our topic ‘All about me’, we learnt about our bodies and the amazing work it does. The Dragonflies began their week by reading ‘Funny Bones’ and had a mysterious parcel delivered. Inside was Big Skeleton from our story but he had been broken into pieces! All the Dragonflies were super helpful and put him back together again! The Dragonflies continued to learn about the number 3 and created their own triangle from bones. They carefully counted out three bones as we learnt a triangle has three sides.
On Wednesday, all of Nursery gave an amazing performance in our Harvest Festival. They had been practising their songs for weeks and really enjoyed singing them for their family.
