'Come here, you need to see this!' could be heard this week in Year 2!
Curiosity was indispensable in the Year 2 classrooms this week.
We went into the world of microhabitats and the many different creatures that live in them. All the children were able to delve, dig, examine, and explore a fabulous range of microhabitats in the Year 2 classrooms. Mud, mouldy logs, leaf piles and pond water were explored with paint brushes, magnifying glasses and examination boxes. The children then recorded what they found visually and with wonderfully creative writing. Many cries of “Come here, you need to see this!” could be heard around the room!
In Maths this week, we have been expanding our knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes. We used feely bags in small groups to describe the shapes’ properties and see if our friends could guess which shape it was from the clues.
