Pre-Prep PrePrep

This week, the Dragonflies and Ladybirds became garden designers and created some beautiful mini landscapes for dinosaurs, unicorns and fairies.

Using their communication and language skills working in groups, the children decided what materials and plants to use to create these stunning gardens. Continuing 'Project Designing', working in a large group the children have also designed "A Dream Nursery Garden area". We looked at our existing play area and thought of ways to improve it.

The Butterflies have been looking at the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and the children have been acting out the story in the roleplay area. They have particularly enjoyed helping the three bears to taste test their cooked porridge. We have noticed the bears do need to work on their table manners though, as there seemed to be an awful lot of porridge on the floor! The children have also worked together to create a new chair for poor baby bear.  They chose a variety of junk materials and then thought about which colours baby bear would like his chair to be.

During our outdoor morning, the children looked at all things Bees. They painted pebbles and found natural objects to create wings. They also had fun making mud splats which they then transformed into some very beautiful looking bees, using buttercups and yellow leaves.

What fabulous sunny weather we have had to explore the great outdoors and end this half term!
