Nursery Celebrate Chinese New Years!
On Monday, we had a very special visit from Mrs Chalke. Mrs Chalke is a paramedic, and the children were lucky enough to see inside her ambulance and learn all about her job.
It was a wonderful morning and the children were full of questions, following our topic of ‘People who help us’ last term. The rest of the week, the children have been celebrating Chinese New year. We have listened to Chinese music and read stories about how it is celebrated. The Ladybirds and Dragonflies made a Chinese drum using the lucky colour red. And some children had a go at writing the initial letter of their name in Chinese. It has been a busy week for the Butterflies. They have continued their topic of Stickman where they have brought him alive, connecting their chosen sticks together, to create arms and legs and adding some eyes. Stickman now has many new members in his family tree! They have also used sticks to produce some excellent mark-making.
