Year 1 Enjoyed Their Topic ‘Wonderful Weather’ This Week!
During our Science and Art lessons, we continued our focus on our ‘Wonderful Weather’ topic.
Year 1 had a whale of a time creating and recording their own weather reports, not the ‘wet and windy’ start to the week we had last week but rather ‘sunny and bright’ and not a drop of rain in sight (for now!). We developed this idea of weather and seasonal changes during our Art lessons whereby we produced our own silhouette tree paintings dividing the sky with the colours that we associate with changes in between Winter and Summer.
Our creative flare did not stop there… Fairies, Bunnies and a Sausage dog were only a few of the new characters included within Year 1’s innovated characters who meet Plop, The Owl Who is Afraid of the Dark, in English this week. Developing our skills to write speech and dialogue between characters. Then we enjoyed our end of the week festivities, a morning of Christmas crafting in the classroom before a wonderful Christmas fayre in the afternoon.
