Reception Visted Wells Cathedral and have Picnic on the Moon!
Moon picnics and Cathedrals this week for the Reception class!
The children have written invitations to their very special picnic on the moon, remembering to include who, where and when information. The flour was flying as they prepared and decorated moon biscuits and they enjoyed creating star sandwiches with various fillings. In our number work this week we have been learning about partitioning and subtraction of numbers to 10. Linked to our space theme the children have created number bond rockets using the numicon and have sent aliens to different planets on ‘part whole’ models and written the corresponding number sentences.
On Thursday we had a wonderful trip to beautiful Wells Cathedral. The children were in awe of the incredible stained-glass windows and we looked at the different features of the building.
