Year 8s Think Big! Year 8s are Challenged to Write a Thought-Provoking Article This Week…
How we meet the challenges that face our children has been met head on this week during anti-bullying week.
During the course of a few days, we have had an assembly about bullying – which has been followed up in our PSHE lessons, our parents have the opportunity to attend a presentation and discussion about ONLINE SAFETY on Saturday morning, we have celebrated Languages Day, and raised awareness and support for the charity, Children in Need.
Clearly, there is plenty to think about – unkindness, standing up to bullies, how to navigate the online world, keeping safe, as well as, thinking about others – their uniqueness and those in need of extra love and support.
Our Year 8 children have been tasked with writing about one of these themes – in the hope of having their work published. We want our children to not only consider these important issues but to realise the power of the written word. Afterall, the pen is mightier than the sword. We cannot wait to see what the children produce. #HazlegroveYear8ThinkBig
