Pre-Prep Enjoy Final Forest School of Autumn Term
The Pre-Prep have enjoyed some lovely last Forest School sessions of the term, from making willow fences to creating ink with charcoal from the fire pit...
Year 2 enjoyed their last Forest School session of the term. It was all about willow and leaves, we wove a willow fence and made amazing leaf sculptures resulting in lots of imaginative creations dotted around the woods. On top of that an amazing mud feast was created in the den area. It was a fun-filled last session and thankfully a dry one!
Despite the chill Year 1 were busy in the woods creating lovely winter pictures using charcoal from the fire circle. We tried making ink by mixing charcoal with water and we also investigated different textures using charcoal rubbings to capture them.
Reception took advantage of the low winter sun coming through the trees to create shadow drawings. We used natural materials such as charcoal from the fire and mud to make our marks. All of us were absorbed in the task and lots of concentration was needed when trying to make the consistency right to make ink. We lost track of time and before we knew it our last Forest School session of the term was over, what a lovely way to end.
