Year 1 make Christingles

Year 1 make Christingles

Pre-Prep

The Year 1 children made their own Christingles as part of our topic on the significance of light in different religions.

The children enjoyed learning about the different parts of their christingle and what they mean.

  • The orange represents the world
  • The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ
  • The raisins represent all of God’s creations
  • The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.

Mrs Sheldon lit the candles and the children stood very sensibly to appreciate the candlelight.
