Pre-Prep celebrate the harvest with a special assembly

The Pre-Prep children all performed beautifully for their special assembly to celebrate the harvest.  They clearly enjoyed singing the lovely songs that Mr Marquis had chosen for them to learn with him in their music lessons.

The Nursery children started the procedings by delighting the audience as they acted out the story of ‘The Little Scarecrow’ with a scarecrow and his daughter and a flock of little crows.  The Reception class then performed ‘The Enormous Turnip’ with more and more children being enlisted to try and pull the turnip out of the ground before it finally came out and was turned into soup!

Year 1 and 2 have been learning their dances separately with Mrs Arnold and they put them together, dancing beautifully for the assembly.

Some Year 2 children read prayers they had written before we ended our assembly all singing together.  It really was a very fitting celebration.

Our thanks go to all the wonderful harvest contributions the children brought into school.  These were put on sale in the band stand at going home time to raise money for the charity Mary's Meals.
