History brought to life for year 2
The life of a nurse during the time of Florence Nightingale was brought to life by our exciting workshop with our Outreach Heritage Officer, Mr Stok. Year 2 were able to handle artefacts from the 1800s including an actual item that had been taken to Crimean War.
The hands on experience enabled the children to experience some of the horrors that happened in a Victorian hospital. The nurses (the girls in the class) had to bandage the boys wounds. Florence may not have approved of their methods!
